With Redo I think it's not controversial because no one's pretending it's anything other than it is. Something like Shield Hero is way more insidious. Redo has been reasonably popular though, it just doesn't spread, because you should know you're not going to like it before you'd even try watching it.

Unfortunately, Horimiya is also suffering a good bit under the weight of just how much source material it's cutting. It wasn't so bad early on but I'm starting to feel it. Not quite the same situation and still solid, but I hope this doesn't become a trend for Cloverworks. They were doing so well!

Persona 5 was their first anime. They know plenty about cutting way too much from the original series.

In other Falcom news, beat Ys 9 yesterday. Best Falcom game since Ys 8! Ys 8 was better, mostly because it was a bit more of a cohesive experience, but this was still excellent, with some very cool gameplay innovations. Every game with open world/exploring should have advanced movement stuff that makes you go way faster IMO.

The anime finishes in a couple weeks. There's a reasonable amount of content it won't adapt - I've heard 6 episodes worth or so? Some suspect it'll get a movie to finish up (probably next year?).

CS4/Anguis/Enforcers: Nielsen has the same VA as the First Anguis, so he seems likely to be the First Anguis.

Epstein = McBurn is a theory I've seen a few people talk about. Lines up along the time the Orbal Revolution happened, and I like it since you don't usually think of a guy like McBurn when you think scientist.

The Grandmaster looks similar to a certain picture in Azure, but that could be coincidental. She's also on the front cover of Hajimari!

My immediate response to that was thinking the world takes place in a computer simulation. Not sure that's what they'll go with, but it would fit (characters are programmed not to think about certain things).

Also Zemuria is just the continent. The people are programmed not to think about what's outside.

Why would bring less superhero esque make it better? The average MCU movie is much better than the average action movie.

I was 9 when SMRPG came out, but I played a bunch before that I think. Breath of Fire, Secret of the Stars, FFMQ, FFIV, and above all, FFVI. FFVI is the game that really made me an RPG fan. Rented it a bunch, got it for Christmas, and played it a bunch more. Played SMRPG a bunch too. FFVI, CT, and SMRPG were my big SNES RPG favs.

It's theoretically a skippable arc. The problem is that you're skipping it to get to much worse content, and it wasn't the only thing that was skipped, so there are some real awkward episodes basically summarizing dozens of chapters of character development in one or two episodes.

HEA's the most popular by a lot I think.

Also with the fourth wall thing, I'm not talking about explicit breaks. I mean how no one in the show is afraid of goblins/no one takes them seriously despite them being dangerous monsters that cause huge amounts of death and destruction. The only reason people would think of them as weak is due to other fantasy stories. In GS, everyone should be aware of how dangerous they are, and people like Sword Maiden especially should be spreading the word. I like the series more when they're fighting non-goblin monsters, generally.

GS was solid, but there were dumb parts, like everything with the sword maiden. Also the premise is stupid/fourth wall breaking. Fun when it's focusing more on the action though.

Shadow Rising is Perrin's best book in the series, so you should like that.

Personally, I'd say book 3 is the weakest of the first 7 or so. Less Rand focus is disappointing, though the ending's great. Mat's the real star of book 3 - that's where he gets good, IMO.

4-6 are in a bit of a different style, but they're just about my favorite chunk of the series. Hope you enjoy them just as much!

Persona 5 Strikers beated. Good game! Should definitely be played by anyone who liked P5 since it's a direct sequel (feels like more of one than P4A, for example). Good new characters, and gives the old cast a chance to interact and have fun together. Dungeons and stuff are solid - much less Warriors-y than I would've expected. Really feels like Persona 5-2, but with a more action RPG style battle system (kinda similar to FF7R's, honestly).

I'm trying to go through all the attractions with everyone to see all the unique dialogue, so this might take a while. The scenes basically play out the same way, regardless of who it is, but I still need to see it all!
